Fast food Restaurants needs to control the advertising strategy because it is affecting our children and parents needs to stop that from happening. According to Eric Schlosser the author of fast food nation,Mc Donald marketing to children with commercial ads, play lands and toys. Mc Donald promote it self as "Trusted friend " and children can be advertised as early as age of two before they can recognize their own name.I think that the government should put a end to the advertising fast food to children because it is brain washing our children. And I also thing that parents should take control of their children because its their fault also.I also think that the government should start promoting to eat healthier food so our children can improve their health so they can have the vitamin they need instead of eating fast food.
Advertising food to children is starting to brain wash them because there to many ads.According to the text "Indeed market research has found that children often recognize a brand logo before they can recognize their own name"(pg.43)what this quote mean is that children are being bombarded with ads which it makes it easy for them to identify the logos they have seen daily before the even know themselves.I think that fast food restaurant ad are getting getting out of hand. For example my god son Mike who is now three watches a lot of TV. Mike know's the Mc Donald slogan "I am loving it".Mike first words was Ronald the clown.Mike is seriously obsessed with MC Donald, he eats every day,when Mike doesn't receive Mc Donald he throw a temper tantrum.Mike bedroom theme is Mc Donald.I had a chat with Mike's mother to tell her stop feeding him Mc Donald and don't let him watch Mc Donald ads because its on every 15 minutes, she says "I don't care if mike loves Mc Donald let mike do whatever he wants because at the end of the day it makes Mike happy and if he is happy in happy. A few months passed by and mike is now diagnosed with diabetes and over weight for his age because all he was eating was Mc Donald.This was because the TV ads was brain washing mike into believing that Mc Donald was a great place to eat by using Ronald Mc Donald which was the mascot and ads to gain the trust of Mike. Mike mother wasn't happy happy that Mike wasn't physically fit for his age so she change Mike's bed room theme to sports, changed mike eating habits giving him healthy choices of food like food that contains low carbs, and importantly she doesn't let him watch any TV to avoid the ads. Mike's mother took a stand and made a blog and shared her story and surprisingly other mothers had the similar situations with their children so the mothers became one community from all over the world and made a foundation to make the government stop advertising towards children because it is brain washing them. On the blog Mike's mother give advice to the other mothers and give tips on how to handle the situation and stop it from happening again. Till this day the foundation is still growing and Mikes mother hope the government will make advertising towards children come to a end. Today Mikes mother is a muse to other mothers and helping then to control their children and guiding the mothers. Mike mother takes Mike to the park, trips to the zoo, a lot of out door activity's to help mike keep his mind busy and not think of eating Mc Donald. Mike is now a healthy happy little boy and him mom is a proud mother. This show that Mike had an obsession with Mc Donald because of the TV ads. This also shows that it is happening all over the world and it is a serious problem to children because their are easy target and are easily influenced because they are so young. This also shows that it is not only the government causing this problem its also has to with parenting skills.
In conclusion the government should to put a end to Fast Food advisement because it is harming our children. It isn't fair that fast food restaurant are strategizing to target the young.These big corporate companies use slogans, mascots and logos to catch the attention of young children so that they can potentially become life long customers even if it is putting them in harms way. Parents play a big role in this whole situation and they need to work on their parenting skills.
